Testimonials

"April,
Just wanted to thank you so much for helping me with Porter. We took him to Dr. Kruesi, at Cold River Vet Center near Rutland. He got the right diagnosis on Porter. He has sarcocystis, which is similar to
coccidia, probably from eating possum poop. It attacks the muscles. Dr. Kruesi also saw on the xray that Porter has a bacterial infection in
his growth plates. He's been on antibiotics and all kinds of
supplements and homeopathic stuff, and he's feeling so much better! So, just as a reminder - you said everything hurt from the ribs back, it was something systemic, and he was very contracted. And, if he had knee
surgery, it would probably have to be redone. (The sarcocysitis causes painful muscle contractions, and all you need to blow a patella surgery in a large powerful dog is a strong muscle contraction!) So, what you
said was ALL TRUE!! One day he was standing taller and freer. My husband said, "Did Porter just grow?" He was so contracted but we never
realized it, because he's still growing, and we didn't know what he was supposed to look like!
Dr. Kruesi also said that he doesn't think Porter needs knee surgery for the Grade 2 luxating patella. I've been watching him, and I now think that the really awful limping that we saw after a lot of fast running in circles was severe muscle contractions, not the patella slipping off. We never actually saw the characteristic patella luxation movements, but everyone kept saying patella, patella that I was doubting
my own eyes... He's been doing a lot of running in circles now, and he's sound! He does not have a patella problem!

Contrast this with what the orthopedic specialist said - that based on the PennHIP results, Porter is dysplastic and therefore should definitely have knee surgery. Based on what you said, I knew I had to keep looking, and my obedience instructor recommended that I go to Dr. Kruesi. (When I asked Dr. Kruesi if he thougth Porter was dysplastic, he turned away, and then asked me, "Are you going to show this dog? Are
you going to breed this dog?" Obviously Porter is not dysplastic, and he does not need patella surgery! It's interesting also that Dr. Kruesi
saw the areas of inflammation on the growth plates on the xrays taken by the orthopedist...and he said, "Please do not put this dog under the knife. Give me 12 weeks." When I told him what you said, he said, "She
could be right." Compare that to his reaction to what the orthopedist said!!!) So, once again, you've provided very helpful advice. I'm putting together some notes for Porter's chiropractor, Dr. Ron Pocchiari, on what helped us get the right diagnosis, so that he can
refer people, and your web address is in there! I also hope he takes one of your seminars!

When we talked on the phone, you mentioned that you made something that cleared up acne. Do you sell that? My nephew is just starting 10th grade, and has bad acne on his face and even his back. I'd be interested in getting some for him, if you have some available.

Have a great day, and thanks for everything!
Erica"

Counseling for Animals

April Frost offers private counseling sessions in addition to group classes because the energy created by each animal and human when they are combined is totally unique. Private counseling provides you with
the opportunity to speak with her personally and benefit from her knowledge and experience. During these sessions, April will help you identify what may be causing or contributing to the specific behavior or
health issues you are experiencing with you companion animal. You will then work together to create an easy to follow program for resolving the challenge you and your pet are experiencing.

Private counseling for you and your companion animal for any of the services listed below may be scheduled as a phone consultation or by your visit (by appointment only please) to Animal Visions in Walden, VT

Behavior Counseling:
Behavior issues range from mildly annoying to potentially dangerous, and cause stress for both the companion animal and the people that it lives with. Most of these problems are not usually covered in group training classes or resolved with the usual training requests such as sit, down, stay, etc. Taken into consideration are the animals background and
medical history, current level of physical and emotional health, and its environment. Inter-actions with the family and other animals, diet, and types of games you play with them are also reviewed. Based on this information April will help you identify underlying things that may be causing or contributing to the problems you are currently experiencing.

Using a holistic approach, she will look at your individual situation and provide you with her professional assessment based on the information that you and the animal provide. April will then help you set goals and outline a program to resolve the problem.

Animal Communications:
Animal communication can be used to help resolve behavior problems, and health issues. Dogs are emotional beings and understanding these emotional need as well as instinctive needs can go a long way in promoting harmony when animals and humans live together.

Animals are sending us messages all the time. We send them messages all the time. The problem is that we are not even conscious that it is happening. Messages often are not received or understood. Animal communication can help you understand why they do the things they do as well as understand their feelings. Animals are fully emotional beings
that experience joy, sorrow, stress, etc. Animal communication can help resolve many issues and deepen respect and communication between species.

Wellness Counseling:
Based on many years of experience with a wide variety of holistic modalities, April will help you attain the highest level of optimum health possible for your animal companion. By promoting wellness many common states of illness and disease can be prevented or alleviated. If your animal companion has experienced an accident, illness or surgery
